Crime prevention is the best means of protection. The UC Merced Police Department provides support and services to campus community members to make UC Merced a safer place to work, learn and live.  Below are programs and information to help keep the UC Merced campus safe and prepared for emergency situations.

Shooting Incident or Other Violence

The potential for a shooting or other violence exists on every university campus throughout the United States. The UC Merced Police have developed a guideline in helping to possibly prevent and prepare for shooting incidents or other violence.

Megan's Law

The State of California requires that people convicted of certain sexual offenses might have to register as sex offenders under "Megan's Law."   You can get more information about the location of registered sex offenders and ways to protect by clicking the link above.
