The UC Merced Police Department offers a free 6-week Police Insight Program.

  • Radar experience on Lake/Bellevue to guess how fast drivers are going

Who is eligible to apply?

The program is open to UC Merced students only (Staff program during Summer).

Applicants must be 18 years old on or before the first class session.

Applicants must not have felony convictions or outstanding warrants.

Applicants must not be on parole or probation.

Applicants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.


We are currently not offering classes due to the corona virus, but will reschedule as soon as possible

How to apply:

  1. Make sure you are eligible before applying.
  2. Write a brief letter of interest.
  3. Complete the application.
  4. Submit the application and letter of interest to the UC Merced Police Department.
