UC Merced Police Department is made up of diverse team members who work hard to keep our community safe. As an organization, we spare no effort in making sure we recruit, select, and hire the very best candidates to serve others. Every staff member demonstrates a comittment to service and helping people through their current challenge. They answer questions, offer resources and explain available options on a daily basis.
Relating to, understanding and connecting with our unique population is our priority. In order to do so, we embrace hiring those who have overcome similar struggles our campus members are currently facing. Our goal is to be approachable and genuine with every interaction. We know reporting to police can be intimidating based on real and perceived fear.
