	Comunity Service Officers Program Students of UC Merced employed by the department to promote safety and security on campus, provide campus safety escorts, provide security at special events, patrol the campus community, and assist during emergencies.
Rape Agression Defense Program A basic personal defense training program taught for women with the goal of providing realistic self-defense options to women regardless of ability, age, experience, and stregnth.
	Police Mentors A program working with the local at-risk youth encouraging positive life choices that enable them to maximize their personal potential through community service, outreach, and academic oppertunities.
Citizen Police Academy A free ten week course covering topics such as the law enforcement hiring process, community policing, the criminal justice system, use of force, DUI investigation, high-tech crims/internet safety, domestic violence, and sexual assault.
	Bike and Electronic Registration Items registered with the department are affixed with a unique label corresponding to their serial numbers. Items registered are less likeley to be stolen due to the visibility of such labels and items that are stolen are more likely to be recovered.

	Live Scan Are you recently employed or a buisness hiring? The UC Merced Police Department provides free Live Scan service for UC Merced employees, and service to others for a fee. Come in during walk in hours or schedule an appointment.
Blue Lights Blue lights are direct lines to dispatch located all over campus. In any sort of emergency, anyone can come to these blue light stations and talk directly to dispatch who can send help quickly.
